Michigan wins, 34-10 after game called with 1:27 left in 3rd Q due to weather. So nice to not need healing pictures to start off the season!

It's finally here! Not only a new season, but a new beginning (at least it sure feels that way). I was so excited last night, I could barely sleep.

Well our long winningest college football program nightmare is finally over - I can see Rich Rod standing next to "No Defense One" waving dismissively giving the double peace sign - coincidentally indicating the number of quality wins achieved in 3 seasons. Thankfully healing begins in less than 3 hours.

Urban Meyer and Pam Ward would make an epically bad commentating pair. He's almost as awful as she is. But neither of them compares to the awfulness of Akron U. If they were any sort of team they would probably be beating Ohio right now. Ohio looks terrible.

Don't get me wrong, I do, too. But, truth be told, there had been so much sunshine in the off season, I'd be lying if the defense the first couple series wasn't a cold splash in the face.

No shit, they put the RADAR up on the scoreboard?? That's possible?? It's really been THAT long since I attended a home game?? Oh yeah I've worked on Saturdays for years. Whatever, we start out the season with a win, Brady knows what to work on, and GO BLUE!!
This could be a rough year at times(and I hope I'm just saying this because of what I've become accustomed to the last three years), but despite of missing some coverages the defense actually attacked and TACKLED. I felt like I was watching Michigan today. I know there will be growing pains, but man I feel good about this team and these coaches. It seems like the pride is back. Am I the only one or do any of you agree?

first, it seemed that they tried to play very vanilla (especially on D), and only broke out the new packages (like the heavy I or the blitzes on D) as they had to do so.
second, the scoreboard was a big disappointment. yeah, it's as big as advertised, but they didn't track the stats, and they didn't seem to know what to do some of the graphics.
finally, i can i have never been so hot & so cold in 3 hours time in my life.
SiC, that's too bad about the scoreboard. I hope they sort it out and use it to full potential.
I was listening to the game on the radio on my way home from my mom's. According to Mr. Brandstetter, they are still working out the kinks on the board. I suspect the stats was one of those kinks.
The secondary looked BAD.....I was getting sick to my stomach.....then the adjustments came and WHAM! I don't think that Carder wanted to come back out! I think the Gazette reporter in Kalamazoo may realize that he was incorrect when he said that Carder was the best QB in the state of Michigan. Don't get me wrong, he looked good, until Kovacs leveled him a few times and our D kept pushing! Loved the D running back both recoveries for TD's! I think you are right when you said they came out vanilla then amped it up.
Oh and I loved Mattison's hat....I want one!
Mik....I haven't checked yet, but I think for the first time ever (in my recollection) that EMU was favored by like 40 points.....I wonder if they gave them points for having Mike Hart on the coaching staff now....:)
Wow! It is just a pre-season game.
TOSU played a high school team also and won,big deal.You all should calm down and wait untill real season starts. U of M always did good against these teams. So instead of over blown celebrations for a team you should have beat relax and see how you do against real compititon. All the blogs on TOSU is the same and I say the same to those fans also.
yeah, the scoreboard operation reminded me of my teenager when he gets a new video game- it takes a few tries to figure out what all the buttons do.
the weather was an amazing change- it was mid 90's at kick off- stifling hot. then the rain moved in & it was close to 68 (& i was soaked) by the time the game ended. damn near froze.
during the delay, i went to buy a cup of coffe- they didn't have any! it was so hot beforehand, they didn't bother making coffee for the stands.
could have gone worse- we could have played like ND!

It is you can't judge this team for a few weeks,just like the pre season polls(waste of time) And I will post once my Buckeyes get slapped around by ncaa,that will be lots of fun. But I will be here for the abuse:)

I have found out they are all insane down there! Thats why I live up here in Michigain:) It is just force of habbit and since it was a father/son bonding i became a Buckeye fan(child abuse?)But I get frighten by the behavior down in c-bus those folks are just nuts!(no pun intended) It does disgust me and sadden my heart to hear and see the idiots that pass themseleves off as fans,I always try to keep a level head about things like football games and teams.And trust me I did wish at the time you guys did get pryor,never cared for him! As for tressel,he caused his own downfall and TOSU should get punished! As for the u of m I do like Denard and wish him nothing but good luck for his season and life,cause he seems like the real deal and I do respect him>
And really, your point is well taken that these opponents were nothing to get too excited about. But we can't help getting excited.
That just isn't going to change!
