Forget the tats. Didn't the whole Live Strong- esque bracelet craze end a few years ago? |
Reports are coming out of C-bus that Tosu officials are looking into compliance issues which could potentially affect the playing status of several Buckeye players for their Sugar Bowl showdown with the Arkansas "Sign 'em all" Razorbacks. As-yet-unproven rumors are swirling that the Ohio State players
The player names mentioned in the story reported on SportsbyBrooks are Terrelle Pryor, Dan Herron, DeVier Posey, Chris Fields, Nate Oliver, Travis Howard, Mike Adams, Jonathan Newsome, Michael Brewster and Jordan Hall.
Some of the players, such as Pryor, have denied the charge yet most Vegas sports books have pulled the OSU-Arkansas game.
Surprisingly, this brewing story was not broken by a Wolverine trapped behind enemy lines in Ohio, but by Dave Biddle of Bucknuts.com. Or, as he'll be known around Columbus if Pryor et al. are forced to miss the Sugar Bowl and Tosu again gets spanked by an SEC team: @#$% Dave Biddle.
Frankly, I'm torn as to whether or not I hope it's true. Sure, anything that would cause Buckeye fans to rip their commemorative Dale Earnhardt plates off their mobile home walls in anger and throw them across the room at their framed Superman pictures makes me chuckle.
But wouldn't that be some shit if, say, Terrelle Pryor got banished from the Buckeye bowl game for a tattoo while Cam Newton is still allowed to play?

See now, I wouldn't want it to happen because I want to see Arkansas beat tOSU fully stocked. If they lose these guys to a tattoo scandal and they then lose the bowl game, it will be because their "best" guys weren't playing.
All Cam Newton's dad did was try to pocket $180000. That is obviously not a problem, but for Tyrell Pryor to have the audacity to believe someone would want his autograph is inexcusible. I say pull his scholarship, throw him off the team and give his uniform to Goodwill. Here's Tressel:
JT - "hey Tyrell, how much did you get for that autograph?"
TP - "i got 25 cents coach"
JT - "how much do you think i could get for my John Henry?"
TP - "coach, your name's not John Henry"
update:
TYRELLE PRYOR FOUND INNOCENT
-it has been determined that Tyrelle Pryor's dad requested the tattoo for Tyrelle and that Tyrelle had no knowledge that he was getting a tattoo.
As I said in the buffet link....ya can't trade ink for ink....
wv= serchsge. No kidding!
...but in the SEC you can trade a body for cash.
In other venues, I believe that's called human trafficking or the slave trade.
Let's just drop the pretensions and call college football the farm league for the NFL. What a cluster.
All of this goes to the heart of the matter for the NCAA. There is absolutely zero consistency on their part. Michigan players practice too much...sanctions. Auburn players take buckets of cash....hey lets give him a Heisman and a chance to play for the National Championship. Ohio State players get ugly tatoos....we'll see. And the funny part about the Auburn player is that there are probably other schools that are doing the same thing. First thing I learned as an internal auditor is to follow the trails.....I guess they slept through that lesson in the NCAA.
You know what makes this better - Tyrell has a Bucksstache in this photo!
Not everybody's the perfect person in the world. I mean everyone kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me, gets free tattoos because they wear the scarlet and grey. I think that people need a second chance
tUOS presser at noon.....
<<-it has been determined that Tyrelle Pryor's dad requested the tattoo for Tyrelle and that Tyrelle had no knowledge that he was getting a tattoo.>>
LOL!
And CW, I noticed that, too. In the pix on SbB I linked to, several of them have one. Don't know how I resisted.
Are you Fn kidding me??? These guys are suspended for five guys NEXT season???
What about the bowl game?
F Lion is ready to go HAM on these yahoos
Games.
Not guys.
OMG I just cant believe this presser!
TP 5 game suspension......
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
This is gonna be a great Christmas after all.
The irony.....TP sells his Sportsmanship Award....
Am I the only one that does not understand the logic in suspending kids for 5 games in 2011 and yet still letting them play in a bowl game?
The NCAA has lost their last bit of credibility in my mind.
And yet we'd still beat Michigan next year without these 5 guys ;)
That's priceless, T9. Gonna put that up on MZ Twitter feed.
Andy, NCAA lost cred with Cam bs.
Sru, not today, dude. We're busy reveling in your misery. No sympathy. Have to find it elsewhere.
sru. Dude. Your Bucknuts just threw you under the bus.
Integrity counts a whole heck of a lot more than W's.
Your guys, the AD, and Tressel just sold their souls and that of their fan base. Sell your pants? Your championship ring? For shame.
Sorry man, you can beat your chest all you want about the game domination, but this crap just trumps all that.
AND the NCAA lets them compete in a bowl game? Wow.
You are right Sru. The without those 5 guys Ohio State would still roll Michigan.
I know this might come as a surprise to you -- since like all Ohio State fans, beating Michigan is your primary obsession -- but this isn't about beating Michigan.
I just find it comical the AD can attempt defend with something like this: "We were not as explicit with our student-athlete education as we should have been in the 2007-08 and 2008-09 academic years regarding the sale of apparel, awards and gifts issued by the athletics department"
This would be the legal equivalent of a parent telling the police "I never told my kid it was wrong to steal" after their college aged child was caught for robbery.
Cam's dad shops him for $180K and he plays in NC game, Tosu players sell shit/get free benefits, 5 games; Michigan practices 10 extra minutes and we get 3 yrs probation. WTF?!
Ok, in the spirit of Xmas sru....
Right, you may beat us without those five but you will sooooo lose to Colorado....
Better? ;-)
I have not commented to a certain tosu fan's comments in a long time, choosing to ignore him instead, but if he is looking for sympathy he can find it in the dictionary between shit and syphilis. :>})
No what's going to happen with the Cam stuff. About 2 to 5 years later, the NCAA will figure out that yes indeed, violations were made and yes indeed Auburn should pay for those violations. However, Cam will be in the NFL making millions. The Auburn coach will have moved on to green pastures. The people that will pay for the transgressions will be people who had nothing to do with all of this. IT's all BS.
I'm probably pretty close to the truth when I say that the school that will have violations is drawn from a hat. I'm guess that the NCAA rules are convoluted enough that everyone is violating them in one way or another.
When I posted the comment about beating you guys, I hadn't heard about them selling their stuff. Unfucking real. Screw those 5. I hope they all go pro and just leave before their senior years. Fuck pryor for selling those gold pants. He doesn't deserve to be a buckeye anymore.
You guys have all the fun with this that you want to.
@Sru, this is not fun to me, it's sad.
