I know, I know: I said I wasn't gonna mention the new B10 logo or any of that stuff anymore but...
Brian at MGoBlog asked his readers to come up with a better logo and, I have to say, I really liked the one below by Anthony Tscherne (with a slight modification by reader "Quarterback U").
Compare that to this:
What say you?

Love it. A heck of alot more classy... on equal footing with the new PAC-12 logo.
Yost, that was a good joke. I must admit I fell for it. THIS is the REAL Big Ten logo and you were just fooling us with that earlier post of a logo. Who did that first logo? Was it Whet? C'mon, you can tell us.
I actually like the one with the threads, six for each division.
I don't think it should have the individual teams' logos. A conference logo should be simplistic. I'd like the shield one if you took the team logos off. The twelve stars are enough.
Do we have to say anything? The apparent lack of anyone with a pulse in the Big 10 offices has me deeply concerned that they can't tie their own shoes much less come up with a creative logo...
I have to admit--and I'm by no means some sort of graphic artist--but I think the PAC 10's logo is the gold standard. Nice, tight design, in the shape of a shield--which hints at the martial aspects of athletics (especially footbool)--and the very subtle mountain and wave which perfectly capture the geographic locations of PAC 10 schools.
I wish they had been able to put some sort of symbol that similarly represents the midwest in the Big Ten logo. I do like the inclusion of "1896" though.
