Sophomore QB Tate Forcier was ruled ineligible for Michigan's Gator Bowl game against Mississippi State on Saturday "for not meeting university standards." Michigan will not discuss the reasons behind the suspension citing privacy issues although many assume it's for academic reasons.
No word at this time if coach Rich Rodriguez, AD Dave Brandon or the Gator Bowl CEO are lobbying school or NCAA officials in order to have the suspension postponed until the 2011 season.

Wow, he only had 4 touchdowns in the games he played. IT seemed like he had more than that.
Wow, ain't karma a bitch. Right after he was talking about how easy it was to get grades at Michigan.

(Sorry, a combination of a sucker for nostalgia and KJ)
Keith Jackson: Whoa Nelly the Tat5 come to the bighouse to face the Tate1.............
no tater in the gator
if richrod is truly playing to remain the coach at michigan and denard gets hurt in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of a close game, i gotta believe he's going to throw gardner in there to try to get the win. he loses and he's done and he won't be around to get the benefit of having gardner redshirt.
Tate's gone now.
RR presser: Devin Gardner will be ready to go. There goes his redshirt.....
Fork in the eyeball now...
Sru, I was thinking the same thing re: DG/RR. What does he care if he burns the kid's reshirt? In fact, by saying he'll play him, that to me would indicate RR thinks he's gone. B/c you don't play the kid in meaningless bowl game and blow entire year of future starting QB if you're gonna be around for his career.
The fascinating question for me is, how bad a student would you have to be to violate OSU's academic standards?
I really doubt Brandon's decision is based on a single game. I'm sure the decision's made and has been for a while. You can spin whatever just-so story you like to support what you think will/want to happen.
The kid's here to play football. If you need him, play him.
