Remember when the 'Canes used to rule the state of Florida in both "Ws" on the football field as well as run ins with trouble off of it?
No more.
Move over Miami, the Gators have arrived.
Just a year ago, they claimed their first BCS title. Now, they're working on polishing their off the field credentials.
Last week, in the I-still-can't-fucking-believe-somebody-would-do-this category, one Gator player was charged with using the credit card of his teammate's dead girlfriend.
Then, to keep the UF momentum going over the weekend, defensive lineman Matt Patchan was shot in the shoulder at a Tampa-area park.
The good news is Patchan is expected to make a full recovery. However, the prognosis for Florida's reputation is not as clear at this time.

As much as I dislike him, I don't think that Urban Meyer is quite like Jimmie Johnson or Dennis Erickson.
Check out the Fulmer Cup on EDSBS. Missouri, of all schools, is leading with 21 incidents!
And don't forget Free Shoes University, circa 1987-2007. They're no angels, either.
By the way, Yost, Urban Meyer thinks your commentary this week is a bit "harsh."
feelin':
As a fan of a Big 12 school, I find it interesting the correlation between Mizzou's recent success on the gridiron and subsequent rise in Fulmer Cup standing.
They could have an even better overall team this year, provided they all stay out of trouble long enough to continue to field a team.
Anything to make the SEC look bad is A-OK in my book...
Did anyone else see this article? Braylon Edwards is apparently mighty ticked at Rich Rod for giving the #1 jersey to a freshman defensive back. Even I know that the #1 jersey is held in reverence at Michigan. Do you guys think Rich Rod will back-peddle, or tell Braylon where to stick it?

Well this is apparently a slow blogging day. Here's something to pick everyone up.
Apparently USC Defensive End Everson Griffen was picked up by the police. Griffen just days before had "physically abused a freshman," the police said. To squelch any doubts or grumbles of protest, officers interrupted a team meeting and played the incriminating video, which got posted to YouTube.

I'm a gator so I guess I am bias but even with the most negative spin, I don't think things are nearly as bad as the 1988 canes.
Rulz,
now that was some funny shit. Seems that Carrol has a wonderful sense of humor, as evidenced by this clip and his Halloween prank he pulled with L.White recently.
