that's pretty sweet! I think the guy on the left will think he's Batman when he wakes up... he seemed to not be moving before the vid ended.

The only person who can beat Mike Barwis... is Mike Barwis.

I tried and tried, but I couldn't see that the punch from the guy on the left landed on the guy on the right. Did the guy on the right take a dive? If so, then according to Phil, the LSU-tOSU MNC game was fixed! Holy cow!

When you knock a guy out, his arms don't move above his head like the guy on the right. They drop below head level like guy on the left, who really got clocked. CONSPIRACY!!!

This doesn't have any implication for the USC-Texas Rose Bowl, does it? 'Cause if it does, I'm going to flip and say this is all legit.

Little known fact: Each contestant had Catie's avatar taped to the end of his glove, resulting in twin knockout by the Wonder Twins.

OoC...

Maybe the guy on the right has narcolepsy and just fell asleep right after??

Notice I typed narcolepsy... and not necrophilia... I don't know this guy's sexual preference, nor do I wish to find out.

The way the two guys bodies spell out O H I O on the mat also supports that conspiracy theory.
(or are they spelling out "CATIE"? I can't tell for sure)

Ok, I can see that an avatar change is needed! :P (Do you realize just how difficult it is to take photos of oneself????)

How many days until the season begins?

How many days? Too many days!

(No matter how many days are left, that's always the correct answer.)

AGREED!!

Maybe Yost can start a countdown clock on the site to help us keep track!

OT:

SEC scheduling only cupcakes? Hmm, look at this link.

(link found on EDSBS)

Michigan, 44th toughest schedule based on opponents win %. Hell, Clemson in the A-she-she is slightly better than that. Nut up Maize and Blue! :)

(I know, I know... there's a million wrong ways to interpret that list)

As the resident MMA expert, I have a few things to say about this.

First of all, Beast From Bama is completely incorrect. Most guys go limp when they get KO'ed, but every now and again people essentially rigor mortis. A great example of this can be seen in the Rich Franklin/Nate Quarry fight of a few years ago. Quarry goes down almost the exact same way as this guy. The problem I'm having is that faking that is next to impossible (see pro wrestling, where they cannot convincingly fake being knocked out even with 10 years of training).

Yet I've watched this clip near a hundred times and I still feel like something is off. Despite what Out of Conference said, it's not that the guy on the left doesn't connect. He does. Barely. But that's all it takes if you hit the sweet spot.

My problem is with the referee, Shonie Carter ( a well-known hot-dogger of a fighter himself). When the double KO occurs, he IMMEDIATELY stares right into the ringside camera and starts aping around. THEN he starts thinking about the fighters. It just seems bizarre...I can't imagine most people would react that way in that situation unless they knew it was coming.

The other HUGE problem I have with this clip is that the feeder league MMA event that this happened in (it happened on Friday night) was held at a place called the 8 Seconds Saloon in Indiana. Now, I know "8 seconds" is a rodeo thing, but really. What are the chances that a completely insane highlight double KO (which is so rare that no one knows whether it's happened in MMA before) occurs in 8 seconds at the 8 Seconds Saloon? And then, imagine that, becomes the internet video of the week.

I'm still iffy. They look KO'ed. The punches look clean. People who were at the event swear they were KO'ed. But if they were, that's the craziest sports serendipity that has ever occurred.

Well, if it's legit, Marsellus is going to be pissed!

hate to be a buzzkill....
but the guy on the right seizes after he gets hit, that's why his left arm is straighted and turned out....
he doesn't 'wake up'
those extra movements are convulsions which is why the ref starts motioning for extra help and why the corner guy stabilizes his neck

any word if either of them woke up??

TitleIX- I have the latest report on these guys. Just like OSU fans after the BCS disasters, the two guys are alive and blogging on opposing fighters websites telling everyone how great they are and how they're just reloading this year and they'll be back for the title fight.

They were each knocked out in 8 seconds.... They're not that great. I still think bs when I watch it but anyway you look at it I'd hate to be the guy on the right. At least the guy on the left went down from a legit hit. The guy on the right not so much.

Wait a sec.... didn't Ted Ginn Jr's kickoff TD return against Florida burn exactly 8 seconds off the clock in the MNC last year before Ohio State got KO'ed? Something's fishy....

ok, ok not exactly 8 seconds...

I've been reading your site for a little while. I must say, you've put together a great blog. that, for me, is not an easy compliment to give to a UM fan. Great work. Keep it up and Go Bucks!
