Should have known this was coming...

Anybody who shows his anger by making a video with John Denver playing in the background is, well, uh...yeah.

And then there's this beauty below: "Dick Rob is a fraud." Yea, they're pissed.

Not in West @&^$#@%*& Virginia!

I don't care what the issue is, when you have "Take Me Home, Country Roads" playing in the background it's freakin' serious. Yost, you are one cold-hearted S.O.B.

*sniff*

I never take anyone seriously when they speak to me with a dip in their mouth.

"You will never find any love like you found in West Virginia"

Yeah, maybe that's why he left.

You all keep mentioning John Denver. All I could hear was the theme from Deliverance.

Depends on how much (and what) you've had to drink.

Interesting little fact: John Denver wrote "Take Me Home, Country Roads" after he broke his thumb. Bad omen, anybody?

Look, I understand that West Virginians are pissed, but they should stop their whining already. Call me cold, but they're taking it a bit too far. He could have done much worse. I think he just needed to get out. Maybe the place got suffocating after a while. I know that he shouldn't have said that he would stay at WV until the end, but calling him a traitor and blaming Don Nehlen for encouraging him is going too far. They're just looking for people to blame. Besides, they were pissed at him after WVU lost to Pitt.

That first video is flat out disturbing. These are the images that create serial killers boys n girls. Maybe they should be less blaming RR and more blaming the University for not giving RR what he wanted and insted using that money to gamble. Since gambling is the only thing they do in WV besides incest.

But does this hold true if it "burns when you pee?"

Did anyone see the Freep article with the guy from rivals and his opinion of R2? Sounds good.

Oh, nevermind, you said "dip".....

Nice find on the OSU corner. Sucks for them, LSU has enough speed on offense to contend with anyway. Kudos to The Sweatervest for layin down the law.

"Look, I understand that West Virginians are pissed, but they should stop their whining already. "

Dude we freaked for weeks on the Les Miles thing. Maybe we should cut thm some slack and give them a little time.

he steals from y'all and continuously dumps on Arkansas. BTW, if y'all don't want Ryan, we'll take him back :)

Ok, 20 minutes is enough....

Attention all West Virginians: Get over it. Did we take your basketball coach? Yes. Did we Take your football coach? Yes. We understand you were excited to have something progressive like the spread offense in your state. We would be too if the last progressive thing to hit our state was shoes, but really, there are better things out there.

Someday you'll learn about dentures, education past the 8th grade, and women who you're not related to (yes- they DO exist!), and trust me, all this spread offense stuff will just seem like a lot of hooey. Plus, we hear you-all have them "new fangled satellite dishes" now, so you'll be able to watch R2 and his Wacky Ninja Offense tear through the Big Ten like the Spears sisters through pregnancy tests.

So please- relax West Virginians. Life is good. Take a trip to the big city. I hear Cincinnati is fine this time of year. And if you get homesick, don't worry: Kentucky is just across the river and they've got mullets there, too.

Sincerely,
Michigan

PS. Please tell Terry Bowden we said hi, and thanks for being our farm culb!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled comment section.....

Classic. Too funny.

Joshy,

I was happy that we didn't end up getting Les Miles. He's not such a great coach. I was worried, though, that we didn't get him because of incompetence on the Bill Martin's part. Bill Martin redeemed himself pretty good.

That John Denver song is stuck in my head. It's a great song.

Feelin' Blue said...

The letter was funny, but I don't like kicking fans when they're down. I said that they should stop being so ridiculous, but I'm not gloating about it.

Bowl season starts tonight!!! I have Utah winning on my ESPN Pick'em. Navy has no D, and I don't think that Paul Johnson is coaching them in the bowl game. Utah has already beaten several ok BCS teams.

What the hell is this? My word verification for today: ohwvmm = O-H! West Virginia...mm. Or MM could stand for Michigan Man.

All in good fun my friend, all in good fun.

Something that's been nagging at me all day.....
Why did the guy in the first video NOT have a couch to burn? I mean, he said, "since we don't have a couch to burn I've got this shirt...."

I figured FOR SURE that they'd have like 2 or 3 couches on the porch, and that shirts, in general were optional??????

Guess I'm holding on to some misguided stereotypes...

Feelin' Blue said...

Couch burning?

No wonder everyone in WV will now be rooting for OSU. They're a perfect fit!

Nathan said...

Look, I'm a WVU alumni living in NYC so I can't really relate to the jackass in the video burning his shirt, but I don't know why you guys are spending so much time bashing WVU fans. The truth is when you stole our basketball coach, things worked out much better for us (and not so good for you so far). RR is not the top 5 coach you guys think or want him to be. He did after all get outcoached by Dave Wannstedt. WVU fans are pissed at the way he left but I'm not sure they're necessarily pissed that he left in the first place. After the Pitt game, most were fed up with him getting completely outcoached once or twice a year.

TitleIX said...

nathan--
if he only gets outcoached once or twice a year, we'll take it ;-)

and, seriously, if fans of ANY team are dumb enough to put stoopid shit up on YouTube that validates every stereotype under the sun, why wouldn't we tee off on it????
I mean really, these guys pitched a sweet fat fastball right over the plate. Nothin' else to do but
SAAAWING and
BOO-YAH..that one is getting hit outta da park by the clever ones in the crowd.

or, to quote a famous Georgian...
"Stupid is as stupid does"

Joshua said...

Nathan,
Like I said to Blue, it's all in good fun from my perspective. I haven't even been able to view the videos (blocked at work) but I couldn't (actually, chose not to) ignore the chance to make light of certain stereotypes. If you hang around this blog long enough you'll find we're all about good sportsmanship and intelligent football conversation with a dash of humor and good-natured ribbing thrown in. Truth be told, we're all a little too crazy about a bunch of barely post-adolescent young men in tight pants chasing each other around with a piece of leather. (What that says about us I'm not sure. In private I try to get as much of that with the ladies as possible, but I'll leave that out as I'm afraid the regulars here are about to sign me up for a 12 step program.)

Anyway, no harm intended. As you said, our choice of BB coach hasn't really yielded much in the way of dividends so far. And feel free to throw out some Crazy Michigan Militia types, Lord knows moving back here has given me enough "Gunrack" material to last for days.

Nathan said...

As soon as RR left I knew we'd have a bunch of jackasses putting stuff on Youtube. I actually do like this blog though, look at it at least once a week.

I thought EAST Virginia was, "for lovers."

So if Dick Rod [sic] ever got any love THERE--say, on a weekend military furlough--he will never get love like he got THERE again.

Unless the advertising slogan is materially misrepresenting the "love potential" in the state. I mean, Commonwealth...

I have to agree with this Nathan character. I don't think Rodriguez is a top 5 guy nor do I think he was the best choice. (I'm a big naysayer, sorry)

And he's also right about hoops. It may have worked out in their favor. Here's to hoping UCLA doesn't beat Michigan by 30 points like Duke did.

And, as much as I would like them to shutup I do feel bad for their fans. Rod did kind of screw 'em over.

So will we.

Katie said...

You guys have all the fun when I am gone!! No fair!!

Joshua said...

Wow, watching that I almost felt bad for the guy. At least the production value was good. Didn't know you could do that with crayon.

Oh, wait- that'd be Columbus.

Sorry, Johnny, but like the guys over at Black Heart Gold Pants put it

"... Rodriguez is 60-26 in seven seasons at WVU. He pwn3d the Big East, winning 4 of the last 5 titles and 3 coach of the year awards. His teams run the spread option better than just about anyone. In other words, this ain't your father's Michigan offense anymore, and Florida (and, increasingly, Illinois) has taught us all the basic math of Wacko Ninja Offense + Top-Notch Talent = Carnage."

From here on out I will not refer to our offense without referencing the words "Wacky" or "Ninja". Apparently "Ninja Football" was coined by a blog called The Bemusement Park. Hmm, possible blog name for me?

Ok, since it is slim pickings here tonight, how about some of the best of the Mzone?

My 20 year old son and I spend hours with each other when I come home, sharing songs we have on our iPods, we also have fun on you tube, so when this post came up back in November, I shared the video clip with him. Of course he loved it. He just now asked me where to find it because he wants to show it to his friends (oye). Anyway, I dug it up for him and thought I would remind you all, because it does tend to bring a laugh or two!

I love watching the triple option. I never saw it run by Nebraska under Tom Osborne. It's just...different.

That guy Ken Niumatalolo seems to be doing a good job so far. It's still just the second quarter, but I bet Paul Johnson is schlepping nachus (don't ask) watching his student take over. I expected Utah to win, but Navy's looking good. Anything can happen in the 2nd half.

hopefully the defense sticks around for the second half and the offense starts running the way they can.

for you texters, the answer is miami of ohio (rothlesberger/harrison), michigan (brady/ford) and stanford (plunkett and elway, hoover)

Bad news...RR fired all of the assistant coaches. All 9! What the fuck? Guff will probably leave now that Fred Jackson is gone. I can't believe that that outsider prick fired Ron English, Loeffler, Szabo, Jackson. It sucks and it's a really bad idea. So much for fucking continuity. Maybe it's not happening and he's making it seem like it is in order to motivate the players?

Ok, FUCK UTAH. Their prick of a coach just called timeout after the snap. I rooted for Tulsa over Utah last year b/c I hated Urban Meyer last year. Then I didn't care so much. Now they're pricks.

Katie said...

Blue, he said in his presser that he would not retain, but rehire (if he would keep any of them) The first step to rehire is to fire. Maybe we should wait and see. It is typical to clean house though and bring a full new staff in, so we can't blame him if that is the case.

Feelin' Blue said...

Thanks Katie!!

I had a feeling that that actually might be a possibility. This actually happened with Beilein. Beilein came in, cleaned house, but then rehired some guy. I don't know the specifics, but it was very smart on Beilein's part because that assistant that he kept is a good recruiter.

I hope that he rehires some of them, specifically English, Loeffler, Jackson, and Szabo.

Does Moeller Lite stand a chance? Anyone? Bueller?
