Move over Stanford-Cal...

The clip below is from yesterday's Division III game between Trinity University and Millsaps College. And you might not see a more incredible play - in any division - ever.

To set the stage, Millsaps had stopped Trinity on a two-point conversion try with 2:11 left to keep a 24-22 lead. Millsaps, coached by former 'Bama head coach Mike DuBose, then recovered an onside kick and ran the clock down to :02 seconds before turning the ball over to Trinity at the Trinity 39.

That's where the clip below picks up: two seconds left, 61 yards away. Time for one final play...

Wow. Wow, wow, wow!

In case you're wondering: Fifteen! Fifteen laterals! Seven different players touched the ball. The "Miracle Touchdown" play took :46 seconds.

Final score: Trinity - 28, Millsaps - 24.

P.S. Oh, and if former Michigan TE Tyler Ecker is watching, uh, you know, that's how it's done. I'm just saying.

P.P.S. I'm guessing this is the only time in the history of the MZone you will see "Trinity" and "Millsaps" as label selections here on the site.

Wow...the Clarion-Ledger here on MZone? My hometown paper has finally made it! (I was born in Jackson).

And, as a Belhaven College alum, all I can say is "Muck Fillsaps!"

How in the world does a team pull that off without picking up a flag somewhere? Amazing.

Also, the announcer is almost as much fun to listen to as the play is to watch.

Fun! I agree with Whets, the announcer is almost as fun to listen to as watching the play.

Sorry, but the the defensive team just gave up. You look at some of them on the field and they are just standing there playing pocket pool.

I think some might have thought the game was over when the clock expired like it was a basketball game.

If I was their coach, I'd take the team out to a dirt patch, have them dig their own graves, make them kneel and cap them.

Btw, that piss poor tackling defense sort of reminds how Michigan plays at times.

That was fantastic!

Yeah, a couple defensive guys gave up more than once, but it's obvious what was going through their minds: "OK, com'on! When is this sh*t gonna end?"

Someone's gotta add up the number of total yards that ball traveled, forward AND backward. My guess... um, 140.

God bless Mike DuBose. His teams just can't catch a break sometimes.

Jeez, Tyler Ecker. Breaston was behind him for what, 40, 50 yards?

Crap. Nebraska. Freakin' Nebraska.

This miracle score could have been prevented. I have a strategy that has never been tried, but it goes like this.
In the middle of the play, have the refs call the game and then have the opposing team run onto the field like the game is over even though Michigan (I mean the other team) is still running with the ball. I know it's silly and never been done before but......wait.....doohhhh!

This IS the greatest play in the history of football . . . especially college football. I realize I am a little biased seeing as how i personnally know one of the players involved (the lineman who threw it behind his head!) and have known his family for years, but it STILL is amazing . . . 62 SECONDS!!! NO PENALTIES! 15 LATERALS! Purely amazing.
