It's like Shark Week...only better

It's always interesting when we get a rare glimpse of the often-dangerous Buckeye fan out in the wild. You know, away from the f-bombs, random fires and pepper spray of their natural habitat near The 'Shoe.

Well, our good friend Andy just got back from the Brickyard 400 and sent us the following pix of just such a Buckeye fan he spotted in the middle of the race.

Now, as Andy even said, if you've ever been to a race, you know how incredibly loud it is. These aren't quiet events.

However, this guy was apparently only 30 yards from the track on turn one, yet he was passed out drunk for the entire second half of the race.

We now have an answer to the age-old question about a tree falling in the forest. No, it was not heard - or seen - by anyone.

You're following Shark Week? It's awesome. I was flipping through the channels when I came across these two guys diving with sharks and they were wearing these chain mail diving suits that the sharks couldn't bite through. It was pretty cool.

As a sports fan (particularly one of college football), I say ban NASCAR. It's a waste of gas and is bad for the environment. It's not a real sport anyway, just a bunch of hicks driving around in circles.

Really? If so, that's why we blur the pictures - to protect the not-so-innocent!

He was just resting his eyes. HAHA

I have made that EXACT same argument for the past couple years. It is INDEED as waste of gasoline and it is INDEED bad for the environment. I hate NASCAR. I absolutely hate it. It is the dumbest thing I have ever seen...and exactly what you said...a bunch of hicks driving around in circles. How the fuck is that entertaining?

it is funny that you associate hicks with nascar. i don't think that one of those drivers live in a shack/trailer/van-down-by-the-river. what they have done, unfortunately is created a stupid subculture and refuse to move away from that. no there is nothing stock about a stock car, yet they refuse to change the name, it used to be who could win a race in a car that everyone could buy. i personally can tolerate it (real race cars don't have fenders and more than left turns), but would much rather watch formula one or indy.

Matt and da Braylon,

I would be willing to ban NASCAR if we could ban Hockey too. It's a waste of frozen water that could be used to help the Southern U.S. and the West during the sever drought months.

In the real world, the average street car pollutes more than a race car. (Googled information from here on out)

First of all, race cars cause little to no pollution, even on petroleum gasoline with a lot of lead in it. There is a simple scientific explanation for this. The emissions from vehicles, industrial facilities etc., are in fact the chemical components that do not get completely burned off in the processes. Because racing engines are more powerful than the rest, (even though the mileage is much worse because of this)
they actually have a much more complete burn of the fuel, & the more the horsepower, the more this is true. In fact, some levels of petroleum gasoline burning race engines in Drag Racing (like in Pro Stock & Pro Modified for example) actually achieve complete burn of the gas, thus leaving zero emissions from their exhaust.
