I just tuned in to ESPN Gamecast online to catch the play-by-play... it says Prescott Burgess was 3 for 3 in passing... what gives?

From listening, pretty uninspiring. Good to hear that Mario got some reps.

This is an embarrassing effort against Ball State.

What the fuck is happening right now? Ball State is within a touchdown and a two-point conversion away from a tie. What the fuck?!?! I agree with Anon 11:50, this is damn embarrassing. Can't the WR catch one ball!?

Benny Friedman said...

Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. We've given up nine points on offense. We've let up two long passes that led to TDs. We've made key penalties and dropped third down passes. Look at the stats - we should be killing them. But mistakes are killing us.

We have an unacceptable number of penalties, and how is it possible that we have a turnover but have forced Ball State to make none? And where, oh where is our pass defense????? I have seen nothing on the gamecast about a sack, either.

Q1Go said...

We've already allowed friggin' Ball State to score more points on us than anyone else all season. WHERE is my defense?

Benny Friedman said...

Q1Go, the offense gave up nine of those points. But this was a horrible performance on offense and defense.

This was just awful. And embarrassing. Who'd have thunk that of all the teams Michigan has played so far this season it would be Ball State scoring the most points.

About the only possible bright side to this is if Lloyd Carr had called Brady Hoke and together they planned to make it look close so Hoke can get some sort of bonus and people--Ohio State--will underestimate Michigan.

Wow, impressive W for the yellow and blue. But let me guess, they did what they had to. And, the rushing yards allowed - man their D is awesome! Think Troy and co. are going to throw a few times on the 18th? Holy crap I can't wait - OSU is going to stomp the so called number 2 team in the country (if the yellow and blue can survive IU)! Time to watch the Bucks destroy another opponent. Enjoy the W losers.

you are a worthless, sad, pathetic loser. stalking a Michigan website to post a comment after a close game? dry up & die and save the O2 for somebody useful.

that was just about as bad a performance as we've put on. Lloyd said he'd rather have a bye- and that's what they played like.

unmotivated, undisciplined, and unprepared.

they had better take IU more seriously or they'll embarrass themselves even worse.

Anon 12:29,
The truth hurts. Wow - a little extreme don't you think? Did I hit a nerve or something? I'm actually quite a fan of the website and I visit everyday - so not really stalking. I just find it amusing how many UM fans try to rationilze the yellow and blue's subpar performances of late with references to the awesome D and the team getting it done. Is this not a website meant to discuss UM football?

What was with Lloyd's shit-eating grin on his face after the game as he was going over to shake hands with Brady Hoke? Why on god's earth would he be smiling? We played terribly and very well could have lost to Ball State. WTF!!!?

Anon 12:29,
to paraphrase dozens of tosu posters on the subject of wearing Maize & Blue to cowtown, getting abused, and then deserving it:

you pop up on a Michigan site 30 seconds after a poor performance, and then think someone was harsh??

"you were asking for it".

besides, today's game was the "best" thing that could happen for Michigan, or don't you read the dispatch:

"Tough game could benefit Buckeyes
Tackling adversity might create a stronger team later in season"

for the whole story: http://www.dispatch.com/football/football.php?story=dispatch/2006/11/04/20061104-E1-03.html

9 points given up early by the offense, and two pass plays get behind the defense for nearly 125 yards resulting in another 14. How many dropped 3rd down passes, not just Breaston but Matthews too?

This had better be a wake-up call, or IU will beat us next week, and the OSU game will be over before the half.....

And to top it all off, I had to endure the haze of cigarette smoke in a sports bar for f#%king ESPNU.
