Miami Further Embarrasses Itself With Lame Punishment

It's official: Miami is a joke.

After the debacle last Saturday at the Orange Bowl, Florida International responded by kicking two players off the team and giving 16 others indefinite suspensions. In addition, FIU's suspended players all have to complete 10 hours of anger management counseling and 50 hours of community service, plus they will be on athletic probation for the remainder of the year.
Futhermore, all FIU players and coaches will need to complete community service projects.

And Miami? They suspended one player -- one! -- indefinitely, Anthony Reddick who was out their swinging his helmet like it was a battle ax in Braveheart. Upon hearing about FIU, Miami also said it would order its suspended players to complete community service as well.

What a disgrace.

Multiple Miami players should have been booted. Period. And Coker should have been fired immediately as he has proven yet again he doesn't have control of his program. Coming on the heels of his team's fight with LSU after last season's Peach Bowl and just a few weeks after the 'Canes' tough-guy bullshit of jumping on the Louisville logo, one would think an out-and-out street brawl would be the last straw for the Miami administration.

Guess again.

Apparently there is no "last straw" in Coral Gables as evidenced by the slap on the wrist punishments handed out.

Hell, Lamar Thomas, the former 'Cane player who was doing color commentary of the game for Comcast Sports SouthEast and responded like a complete moron during the telecast , got a stiffer penalty than any of the players on the field -- he was fired from his analyst job.

(For those of you who missed it, during the brawl Lamar Thomas said, "Now, that's what I'm talking about. You come into our house, you should get your behind kicked. You don't come into the OB playing that stuff. You're across the ocean over there. You're across the city. You can't come over to our place talking noise like that. You'll get your butt beat. I was about to go down the elevator to get in that thing."

Below is a YouTube clip we first saw on Deadspin where you can hear Thomas)

Just when I think Miami has hit the low point, they keep going lower. I'm really torn in that I want to enjoy Miami's embarrassment...but it's SO bad it reflects poorly on all college football. It's like they should have a disclaimer put on all of their games.

I have jus' received a spellin' lesson.....

How do you spell MORON???

Lamar Thomas.

The network (CBS, I think) had no choice but to fire his sorry ass.

Now let's see if anyone will give that a..hole a job.

I do not know what is more amazing: a cable company acting responsibly(for firing Thomas, coming soon with a UM ski mask and gun to your local 7-11) or Thomas appearing to speak in complete sentences.

This was ridiculous to see! The Miami Hurrithugs need to be held more accoutable for their athlete's actions. This makes me hate and cheer against them even more! The players got a slap on the wrist because GOD forbid we actually punish athletes, celebrities and the like for actions the rest of the normal population would have been severely reprimanded for. What a disgrace!

Coker better be canned over this bullshit. Players slinging helmetsaround. Players kicking and stomping on players on the ground. Miami sucking major ass this year and Coker still there? I think Miami should do the expected thing and take their incoming freshmen class out on hooker cruise like the Vikings did with their rookies.
