Two Minute Drill

While you're still here...

* Just wanted to give a big thanks to Bill Rogan at KNUS, AM 710 in Denver. He had yours truly on his show Sunday night to talk college football. Had a blast.

* Looks like Mack Brown hates the new clock rules as much as we do.

* WriteOnSports is now up and running, giving you a convenient place to find the blog for any sport or team you're interested in as well as their own original content.

Yea because the clock really hindered there chances to score the 17 pts. that they needed for the tie. C'mon Mack you should have better excuses than that.

Mack Brown needs to worry less about the clock rules and worry more about his DC that chooses to single cover Teddy Ginn at the end of the 1st half.

Speaking of bad timing...what was with the open herpes sore during the biggest game of the season ?

Mack needs a little defense on two fronts, it seems.

In regard to the rule changes, Mack is on record being against them - even after the North Texas win in week 1. He was simply answering a question - didn't like the rule changes then, doesn't like them now, either, etc.

And in reply to Andy's herpes question, the following comes from the Austin American-Statesman:

"Coach Mack Brown had a cut above his lip after Saturday's game and said it came from a second-quarter play in which UT receiver Limas Sweed pushed a would-be tackler in his direction.

"I was in great shape, I move out of the way and Limas pushed him toward me,'' Brown said. "He hit me in the mouth and in the jaw and I got all cut up underneath. I thought I had broken my hand because I had to hold it up to keep him out of the way."

The collision could have been bad for Brown, who had knee replacement surgery in May, but he said he didn't get hurt. "The guys did a good job of holding me up,'' he said. "I did not go down."

Never let facts get in the way of a good story. The herpes story was better.
