Two Man Enter, One Man Leave

In the "Shit We Couldn't Make Up Even If We Tried" Department, the backup punter at Northern Colorado stands accused of stabbing the team's starting punter in the leg -- his kicking leg.

Mitch Cozad, a sophomore from Wyoming allegedly attacked Rafael Mendoza in a parking lot this week.

Mendoza was treated and released but will miss at least this Saturday's game against Texas State. Cozad was arrested on second degree assault charges and is free on $30,000 bond.

In addition, Cozad was booted off the team, out of school and evicted from his dorm room.

According to the AP story linked above, Mendoza was attacked from behind and stabbed in his right thigh after parking his car outside his apartment this week.

The assailant fled in a black Dodge Charger. About 10 minutes after the attack, a liquor store clerk told police that two men in a car matching that description stopped outside the store, stripped tape off the license plate and drove away.

The clerk gave police the license number, and the car was traced to Cozad, who was arrested Tuesday.

When your football team starts to look like women's figure skating . . . it may be time to start drinking water imported from Ohio.

The field goal kicker must be behind this.

"Dude, Mendoza said your Momma's a buffalo!"

"And now all the kicking duties will be mine, Mine, MINE!!!"

Do you think that Maurice can petition the NCAA for reinstatement to play for this team ?

And to think they just joined out conference (Big Sky) this year. Can't wait for our, uh, stabbing matchup on Oct. 28.
