No Wonder We Couldn't Tackle Him

Got the picture above yesterday from MZone reader Craig. When I wrote him back to ask where it came from so I could give props, he emailed and revealed he'd done it himself as well as sharing this (name changed):

The following is an exchange after I sent that photo out in an email to a few Buckeye fans:

"Buckeye fan": For the record he (Clarett) has not been a Buckeye for a while now. We do not acknowledge him as a Buckeye or a former Buckeye.

Craig: So you want to also not acknowledge his touchdown against Michigan in 2002...or his catch that set up the other touchdown in that 14-9 win...or his two touchdowns in the Fiesta Bowl? So basically, let's not acknowledge the National Championship. Sound good?

"Buckeye fan": Fuck Michigan.

They just hate the fact that their greatest glory in the past 40 years is so tainted...and Clarett keeps popping up on police blotters to remind them of that.

Thanks for the pic and email, Craig. And inspired by Craig's initial photo, Benny whipped one up as well with a Michigan angle....

UPDATE: Good ESPN.com story on Mo' C. Writer was called by him just a couple hours before most recent arrest.

Going for the facemask .....

According to the espn.com article this morning, it was Grey Goose and not Smirnov.

Latest from ESPN, and this is no joke, when the police started the chase, he was only one block away from the guy who was going to testify against him in another case. Hmmmm...you can draw your own conclusions, but a) four guns b) wearing bullet proof vest c) drinking vodka d) one block away from the guy who could put you in the slammer.....Sounds to me like Maurice was going knock the guy off.

yeah, and their TE was just banned from the team for the upcoming season for "breaking team rules"...

is there any way we can get tOSU tossed out of the Big Ten???
disdain has turned to pure disgust....

As a Buckeye, I'm more saddened by the lack of direction he has had from his mother and others who have tried to use him as a meal ticket. This continuing downward spiral looks like the last act of despairation from an obviously sick person who has burned every bridge he ever crossed.

In spite of all of that, we still won, and he is a Grey Goose guy.

St. Simons island nole:
When they finally stopped him in the restaurant parking lot he was one block away from the woman's house. Tom friend wrote a good article about the phone call he received the night before it all happened.

As for not acknowledging him that is utter bullshit. I acknowledge him as a kid that was poised to make millions in the NFL, and now is a very sad case of depression and bad choices.

Cheaters never win....unless you're talking about the 02 Tosu squad. Every time Mo makes the news, that "championship" trophy is dragged through the dirt yet again.

Sad to see it's come to this. I certainly don't feel sorry for him, but I've stopped chuckling after his token screwups.

Another rumor I've heard is that he is in big-time debt to some questionable folks, which could explain his apartment fire a while back, and his bulletproof vest and weapons cache. I'm not buying the whole "murder" angle ESPN is pushing, but then again who knows....

I'd just like to see him in jail, or some sort of mental institution.

After reading the espn article about Moron Clarett, views suddenly changed. From winning the Nat'l Title in 02 (thanks to refs) to getting drafted by a team that makes any running back valuable, he truly belongs in a straight jacket. What also interesting is how he wanted to hang with David Boston's trainer so they both could inject themselves and cut corners. Nice classy individuals GO BUCKS- you fans should be real proud.

interesting that he was caught wearing a bullet proof VEST...hmmm...know anyone else associated with tOSU who sports a VEST?

John,

Now that's funny. Might have to spark up the ol' Photoshop machine tonight!

I meant the altered photos, not MC's mishap and all the press it is getting.

Reminds me of that opening scene in, "The Last Boy Scout". Someone's got to post a link to that clip.

Michigan fans yelping at OSU fans about being proud of your ex athletes is like the few existing members of the Nazi party dumping on the Taliban. Michigan is synonymous with filthy athletes. Get over yourselves.

Cottoncandy: F#$K MICHIGAN!

Anyhow, about the top picture. I *know* that one was Photoshopped because nobody would need a gun or bulletproof vest to get past an IU defender.

You'd love a few other kool-aid drinking Buckeye fans to hitch their wagons to your star and believe that ignorant statement, wouldn't you cottoncandy?

Get back to us when our players and former players are in the headlines with the same regularity of the middle eastern crisis....or just keep lying to yourself to ease the pain. Hey, I hear Grey Goose works good for that too!

Yost, you've got the easiest job in the world finding this stuff, lol.

Unfortunately, for cottoncandy, defending the actions of Tosu and their fans on this blog is a grueling full-time affair that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy!

Go Blue!

Mo is an interesting case. He is going through a katabasis of Oedipean proportion and all you guys can do is chide. Look at the crazy antics of Mo and believe and know you are right in cencuring his behavior now, that he is no longer a BUCKEYE but a confused young man on his way to becoming a statistic.

Contrary to the line that my OSU bloggers are taking, to me Mo is not persona non grata. 2002 has no mud drug upon it's achievement. Mo played like a hero that day in Tempe and my BUCKEYES would not have won without him. Since he scored the game winning touchdown in the second overtime of the 2003 Fiesta Bowl Mo has made bad decisions. But he played like a hero that evening. When's the last time a UM runningback ripped the ball from the defender that intercepted your quarterback?

Mo never felt comfortable as part of a team. He thought that he was bigger than the Team, the University , and the Alumni. He has is sadly proven mistaken through his transgressions. But I will not deny my adortion of his 230 yds against WSU or his big catch against UM or his 2 TDs against Miami. He may be a wayward soul, but he's our wayward soul; you may chide all you like, and nothing that Mo does or happens to him is going to make us share our NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP with Nebraska.

Thank-you
-P

Cmon now, Clarett's much classier than the Smirnoff bottle you're giving him credit for. You could have at least given him the Grey Goose.

Plooder, good post, but like most Buckeye fans, you'd like to conveniently believe that Mo's problems all started right after the Fiesta Bowl game.

Face it, he was a bigtime cheater as soon as he stepped on that campus and should have been ineligible that whole season. Similar to Chis Webber, for example, Clarett had no interest in being a student athlete.

From what we know about him now, I find it hard to believe that any self-respecting OSU fan can really be proud of any win acheived with Clarett on your team, especially in the big games that year when he carried you guys.
