Stun guns, mace, concealed weapons, a police chase, resisting arrest: just another day in the quickly disintegrating life of Maurice Clarett.Police arrested him early Wednesay after a chase, finding four loaded guns on him. They had to use mace to subdue him when a stun gun didn't work because he was wearing a bullet proof vest!
Clarett had made an illegal u-turn on the east side of Columbus and failed to stop when officers tried to pull his SUV over. Then came spike strips, driving across the median, blah, blah, blah. Officials say it's the fastest they've seen Clarett since his freshman year at Tosu.
Besides the guns, police also found a half-full bottle of vodka in his vehicle. No word yet if he was drunk or tried to blame Wolverines for all the wars in the world.
You know, when it was announced recently that planned to play for the five team Eastern Indoor Football League, we didn't know the "indoor" part of that meant prison.
More on this story to come, thanks to numerous readers for the tip.
UPDATE: Here's a link to a local news story on the arrest from reader CS.

actually he was on his way to try out for the Bengals....
4 guns? You only have two hands.
This reminds me of the deputy in Unforgiven.
"Why do you carry 2 guns if you only have 1 arm?"
"If I get shot, it ain't gonna be for lack of shooting back."
I'll be the first to note that Clarett had a Buckstache during the arrest.
Now we finally have a running back from tOSU that can compete with O.J.!
Well, the odds are pretty good that his cellmate will be a former tOSU teammate. It'll be good times, just like back in dorm, only without the illegal payments.
gotta credit a tosu education.
he was probably excited to be going to training camp and trying to be all prepared.
the new team? hitmen.
Geez, at this point I almost feel for the kid....Ever wonder what was going through his head when he put on the bullet proof vest? What could he have possibly be thinking? I know the answer is nothing, but geez Mo, what up, Dog?
I love how tOSU has completely abandoned this guy. He pretty much won them a Nat'l Title, and how do they repay him? By making him a scapegoat for all that is bad at tOSU and cutting off all ties. Hold your head up high, Jim Tressel, hold it way up there.
This is starting to get beyond sad. Clearly the kid has some major issues -- and although it is funny to push it back on the Buckeyes. Someone needs to help this kid out.
I wonder how much revenue was generated by Tosu by selling #13 jerseys ?
Do you think it would cover his bail ?
Andy-
Don't worry about the bail. Art Schlicter has 5 large on "Sweatervest" in the 6th race to cover the bail.
#7 you're an idiot. clarett said tress was in regular contact with him and also spoke to several NFL teams on his behalf when he was draft eligible. coach t certainly can hold his head up high.
so how often has anyone from michigan been trying to help Larry Harrison??? yeah thought so
Seriously...what the hell is wrong with him?!?!?
I too actually feel bad for him... until I stop to wonder where he was heading w/ 4 loaded guns and a bullet proof vest. He's not a little kid. He's an adult and actions have consequences.
Unfortunately, his have been bad for a long time now.
More late breaking news ... Starting TE for the tOSU lawbreakers has been suspended for the upcoming season for breaking team rules.
Buckstache rides again!
Yahoo has some police pictures of the guns, vodka, and bullet proof vest. Looks like he is a Gray Goose man.
"Officials say it's the fastest they've seen Clarett since his freshman year at Tosu."
Classic!
It is 5pm in the NYC area & so you are probably gone for the day. I just heard that the starting TE for tosu has been suspended for the yr. Any news? If so when does this ant-social behavior become a reson for concern in columbus.
Michigan native and Rivals100 CB Dionte Allen decided to make a commitment to FSU.
Oh well, as long as UM gets Ronald Johnson, everything will be gravy.
YES, a great pick up for the NOLES baby....
Tell Allen they, FSU, supply all his footwear.
I don't understand why the biased media feels the need to pick on Clarett. They need to get over the fact that he didn't stick around to win more titles for JT. Personally, I think he was on his way to redeem himself-although I know this isn't the case-he could have been going to turn in the guns for a good cause. I don't know why WBNS has to throw gas on the flames by saying that he was arrested near a key eyewitness' residence in his armed robbery case. They are just making assumptions b/c they are upset about not winning more hardware. Me personally, I never claimed the kid and we WOULD have won without him.
"Tell Allen they, FSU, supply all his footwear."
While Big Blue could have supplied all those fourth quarter melt downs.
Unlike a lot of Buckeye fans, I don't think this kid should be hung out to dry, although I do think he needs to be held responsible for his actions. Clearly, MC has some major problems, and I can see the (sad) humor of his situation - especially from Michigan fans. This does mean however that MC hasn't been through a lot, and needs to know he has a long life to live..after certainly a stint in prison, hopefully he will get the help he needs, find some peace is his situation in life; thankfully he hadn't hurt anyone.
This has veered off into tragically sad territory. There's not even really anything funny to say about Clarett anymore.
It's fortunate that the police saw him make that u-turn. The last time I drove around with loaded weapons while wearing body armor I wasn't exactly on my way to the corner grocery to pick up a gallon of milk.
at least Mo' didn't make any anti-semitic comments
