Remember the Titans? Not if this was in the movie

Here's a scene from the Disney movie Remember the Titans in which two of the main characters discuss where they will go to college: Ohio State or Michigan. The scene was cut from the theatrical release and only shown in the TV version. After watching it, it'll be obvious why it was cut, it makes no sense at all. No kid in his right mind would say such crazy things.

You call it Remember the Titans, we call it a precursor to Brokebuck Mountain.

Thanks to reader JNixon for the tip.

The best scene in that movie by far

LOL, Anon. Is it fair to guess you're a Buckeye fan?

Walks like a duck, talks like a duck, probably a Buckeye.

That guy was the one that got smacked by the car. So much for Buckeye luck.

Karma, Anon. Karma for uttering such a vile thought.

Not that there's anything wrong with it, but this scene is gayer than anything in "Brokeback Mountain." Or Inches Magazine for that matter.

Yost,

Come on, man... Woody might have done many things that he could be blasted for, but he did do something right.

The scene was originally shot because of Woody's push for integrating blacks into D1 sports. In the 50's there were very few schools that had started allowing blacks to play on sports teams with whites, but Woody was ahead of the times and pushed for integration at tOSU.

Also, from what I have read the story of the scene is 'true'. It did occur, just not in such a dramatized way or with those two people.

Seeing as the movie took place in Alexandria, Virginia, the "U-M" referred to was most likely the University of Maryland.
