Net Neutrality Site Mentions MZone, Other CFB Blogs

If you're a reader of this site, you know I've been a big advocate of preserving Net Neutrality. Well, Nestor over at Bruins Nation dropped me a line yesterday to say the MZone, Bruins Nation and some other college football blogs who took a stand on the issue (including EDSBS, DawgSports and DCTrojan) got a nice mention on SaveTheInternet.com (although my support of Net Neutrality - and I'm guessing that of the other bloggers mentioned - is about a heck of a lot more than YouTube clips as the link seemed to imply).

In any event, SaveTheInternet.com is a non-partisan coalition fighting hard to save Net Neutrality from the likes of complete morons like Ted Stevens.

Who is Ted Stevens you ask? Just the Senator from Alaska who is head of the committee that regulates the Internet who has no clue what the hell he's talking about. But don't take my word for it. Let John Stewart explain...

Given the enormous damage that Stevens is attempting to inflict on our country, one has to wonder whether he receives campaign contributions from terrorists. Among his many initiatives in addition to his assault on net neutrality are the infamous bridge to nowhere and his attempts to open the Artic Refuge to drilling -- both of which are so heinous that even Bush and the Republican Congress denied him.

Although receiving contributions from terrorists is/would be evil, it is kinder than the alternative explanation: he suffers from a stupidity so absolute and profound that his very existence poses a threat to the nation.

Essentially, he is the Andrea Yates of American politics: the only possibilities are that he is criminal or insane.

Nestor's done a hell of a job keeping this issue on the front burner. I'm glad you've given credit where credit is due. BruinsNations has alerted many a folk to the issue of net neutrality, and you guys have done the yeoman work keeping this issue alive. Makes me proud to be a Bruin. Too bad Ted Stevens, the douche behind this whole thing, is also a Bruin.

Beautiful work by EDSBS to combine topics on that particular posting. Now indirectly through their linking, we have a very serious site about internet rights discussing the infamous AJ Hawk shrinkage picture.

"The Daily Show" did a follow up on the net neutrality issue with John "I'm a PC" Hodgman in a why that maybe even Senator Stevens could understand.

Saw that, Baggy. Good stuff.

Hey, when we gonna get another Devil Speaks column? Quit working so hard.

Although I've been a fairly productive soldier the last few months, I've become a terrible part time blogger. I have a hard time keeping up with making lame comments to other posts.

Before things got too busy here, I did start on a post that would have been appropriate for Memorial Day, but now am not sure when it would best fit in.

It'd make a decent post prior to the Iowa game or be a good part of a series on historical Big Ten games.
