Walker is survived by his wife and two children. The school will hold a press conference today at 10 a.m. ET.
Our thoughts go out to Walker's family and the entire Wildcat community.

This is terrible news. On behalf of the UCLA faithful, our thoughts and prayers go out to the Walker family. I had the chance to meet him very briefly during our recent bowl matchup, and he was an unbelievably nice fellow. God Bless.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Walker family. I saw the news on ESPNews this morning around 6AM, EST, and they just had something on the corner of the screen. I kept waiting for them to talk about it, because to me it was stunning and sad, and I wanted to hear something about what happened. Very sad.
This is very sad news and my heart goes out to his family. As much as I hated that 51-54 loss to Northwestern in 2000, it's an example of how Randy Walker’s Wildcats were worthy opponents. Northwestern, although frequently outmatched physically, played fast, smart, aggressive football. The Big Ten is a lesser conference without him.
Thoughts and prayers to the Walker and NU families. One of my favorite coaches in the Big Ten
RIP Coach Walker
This is very shocking and certainly a reminder of how quickly everything can be taken away from you. He will be missed on the field but more importantly off of it. His family and players are in my prayers.
A really classy guy who always handled the Chicago media well. He will be missed.
Walker was a great coach, who spun flax into gold at Northwestern. The UM-NW game from 2000 will probably stay one of the 3 greatest games I've ever seen for the rest of my life.
RIP
That really sucks and the conference will indeed miss him. I never heard anything about him except that he was all class and his results speak for themselves.
Shocking and Tragic News. Condolences to the family of Coach Walker and the NU family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the michigan defensive coordinator that will loose his job after yet another 4th Qtr. colapse. Fist yourself michigan. Make tranny porn in detroit and get the clap/.
