Earlier this week, former Tennessee All-American QB Heath Shuler won the Democratic primary for North Carolina's 11th District. In November, Shuler will face incumbant Republican Charles Taylor in what many believe will be a closely-contested election that could prove critical in determining which party will control the House of Representatives.Shuler, whose first attempt at success in Washington, D.C. as Redskins QB was an unmitigated disaster, is expected to link Taylor to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff's felonious largesse, while Taylor will seek to tie Shuler to Volunteers Coach Philip Fulmer's flatuent large ass.

An athlete from the South that's a Democrat? What's next: Actually finding the WMD's?
