Does this count against SC, too?

We didn't realize at the start of the week that this would end up being USC Troubles Week here at the MZone. Starting with Reggie Bush's family's questionable stay in a suburban San Diego home, to Mark Sanchez' arrest on rape charges, this hasn't been a good week for the Trojans and their fans.

And when it rains, it pours.

As was pointed out by a couple of MZone readers yesterday, one of SC's biggest fans and "boosters," Snoop Dogg, was arrested at London's Heathrow Airport yesterday. Snoop is a regular on the sidelines at home games in the Coliseum and, while his arrest won't affect the Trojans on the field, after the week SC has had, you have to admit the timing here, uh...sucks. If this incident leads to jail time for the ex-Crip associate, maybe the Trojans can get another role model like Suge Knight to roam their sidelines.

EDITOR'S NOTE: While looking for a good picture of Snoop in SC garb, we came across the following, from SoonersFans.com, which was just too clever not to post.

Does anyone else think that more likely than not, Snoop "latched" on to USC's program because they were winning and in the limelight. Talk about a bandwagoner. I remember watching this show about Snoop a couple of months ago. It said that back when his career was in it's beginning, he really had no idea how to manage his act or money. He wasn't doing well financially. Then he met up with Master P. who really gave him insight into gettin in the public eye and making money in various fields of entertainment. This is why a lot of "old school" rap fans hate Snoop because they feel he sold out.

Think about it. The godfather of gangsta rap had a notorious image back in the day, but has recently gone on to star in movies such as Old School, Starsky and Hutch, and a couple other movies of that nature. How can we not now think that he's latched onto USC for some kind of benefit to his image. If UCLA were in USC's place and had done so well over the past years, it's almost certain that Snoop-a-loop would've been catching passes in baby blue sweats. Just sayin'. How Pete Carroll allowed this any fan, despite his celebrity status, to get so close to his program is beyond me.

Funny what image will do to a person like snoop. Does this mean that if UCLA starts winning, he'll change from a "Blood" to a "Crip" ?

What snoop has become is a disgrace. And no, my opinion on this has nothing to do with his relationship with USC. What happened to my Dogfather?

of course he's a bandwagon fan. I saw him on some show this weekend wearing Steelers gear. Can't tell me that didn't have something to do with a recent Super Bowl...

It seemed a little strange to me that an ex-Crip would wear red so I clicked on the Wikipedia link to read more.

In that page there's another link to the Wikipedia entry for one of Snoop's porn videos called "Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle" and that page shows the box cover where Snoop appears to be wearing a Michigan jersey almost identical to the cursed one I own.

And "Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle" was released in 2001, around the time Michigan's problems with Ohio State, Notre Dame, and bowl games began. Coincidence?
