According to sports officials in Nigeria, soccer referees are allowed to take bribes from clubs but (folks, we're not making this up), should not allow those bribes to influence their decisions on the field.
In a related story, the Alamo Bowl has decided to hire its refs for this year's game from Nigeria figuring they can't be any worse than the Sun Belt Conference officials who worked the game last December.

There he is, our good friend Vinnie Jones. Now a major Hollywood actor.
Here's my favorite Vinnie Jones moment.
Nico, LOL! That's awesome.
My favorite Vinnie jones moment is still the line, "Mind your language in front of the boy!" from "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels."
Is that what you call "checking" your opponent? A very intimate game.......
Doesn't Michigan State get their timekeepers from Nigeria?
He's pretty funny in Eurotrip, too.
Amazingly enough, there is a statue in Ireland of this soccer scene.
He's also great in Mean Machine the English remake of The Longest Yard that uses soccer instead of football.
