As we mentioned over the weekend, according to Carl Bialik at Gelf Magazine, ESPN Radio's Colin Cowherd will give the M Zone credit for our Wonderlic bit which was read on the air last week. As we also mentioned then, if that happens, we're cool and it's time to move on (until 3 years from now when we might try to raise $12,000 in order to put up a Wonderlicpeat.com billboard outside ESPN HQ).While we're going to tune in, unfortunately, the two of us who live in markets that get Cowherd's show could potentially be in meetings for at least a portion of his 10am-1pm broadcast (ok, thruth is that's really the time each week our moms make us clean up so we can continue living in our parents' basements for free). Therefore, if you catch the show today, please email us about what was said and tell us your thoughts. We'd appreciate it.
We'll post an update tomorrow when our moms say the place looks clean enough and Wangs brings 'Nana back from the home.

You guys can't get enough of onepeat.com can you?
Yost - My mom can listen to Cowherd's show, today. It's only a 4-hour drive to reach a station with a signal strong enough to hear him. The closest station broadcasts via carrier current, I think. But remember, she's easily side tracked by yard sales and road side bars so I'm not sure we can count on her actually hearing him - or reporting back accurately.
I think she's going to be picking up Nana while she's out so we can still play Doom this afternoon.
i'd listen in, but i really don't think the loss of brain cells involved would be worth it...
i'll just smoke a joint instead and check in to every so often to see what goes down...
I’ve already got my PalmPilot Calendar set: Monday, 23 March 2009—Start raising money for billboard in Bristol, Connecticut.
no acknowledgement as of 11:50.
could careless about how bad NY is a sports state. Or that Stairway to Heaven is the best Air guitar song.
Agree with another poster about the losing brain cells.
cc you suck and your show is lame!
Anon, thanks for the update. Keep us posted if you can.
2 hours down...no mention whatsoever. My affiliate is going to the Jim Rome show now...so it will be up to someone else to update. Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't say shit.
"Bad sports state"? What does that even mean? And how does he settle on NY of all places; is he basing his analysis strictly on recent College Football and this year's Knicks?
12:04 Colin announces for Michigan Fans to stay tuned in 40 MINUTES!
Wow, Cowherd is really doing a de minimus effort here. He knows that a huge number of affiliates cut off his last hour. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if he goes Giambi on you and just apologizes without saying what it was for.
Imagine that. He is teasing it to the last segment of the show. Trying to milk it for listeners Colin?
This is the unfortunate part of all this publicity...it probably has attracted some listeners for him.
I will keep you updated as long as I don't fall asleep at my computer or throw-up my lunch.

Michigan Fans: Cowherd response in 20 minutes..
This is the best thing for this site. Got me to read up on it.
Which by the way, I will read this site from now on. Good stuff.
ndirish ... he must have seen your posting on here ... he just slammed ND for the easy season last year!
NDIrish36 - does that mean you are approximately 92 years old? Welcome, old timer.
ND had an "easy season" last year? That's crap.
It took us 4 turn-overs inside the 10 before we could finally lose that game!
12:34 and his comments are coming up next after commercials!
I bet he is completely condescending in his comments. We will find out after this commercial break.
Just said that a few specific Michigan fans want to hear from him and that it's coming up next. Got it playing on the stream.
I love how keeps addrssing the apology as something for Michigan fans, like this is some sort of partisan campaign that only they care about.
I just hear crappy music on the stream.
Same, I don't know why either.
Here we go...
Music is because the station can't play any commercials there...the time is devoted to local commercials.
This is awesome. Talk about a victory for the blog-world.
"They deserve all the credit."
Gotta respect him for giving you guys the credit and plug. Let the hit train start rolling.
"Today, MichiganZone.blogspot gets credit for this."
"Intelligently written, hysterical"...at least 3 different mentions of the blogspot post.
12:45 PM - Cowherd
That was surprising to say the least.
Wow. He accepted responsibility for not checking. But he didn't mention his bitch-ass email responses...
However, as I write this...he is mocking himself and by extension the situation
LMAO!! He's making fun of himself now.
"I sat down to write 'To Kill a Mockingboard' this week."
Basically he just bit our material again as a means of poking fun at himself.
NICE.
Didn't you guys suggest he would try to pass off 'To Kill a Mockingbird' as his or soemthing when you were cutting him up this weekend?
He just gave you credit. Great job!

eevwell after 10+ minutes of commercials and sportscenter every 20 minutes this is what cc had to say:
2 things we take a lot pride in the show:
1. try to be different (dig a little deeper)
2. work ethic (we owe you a really good day's work)
That said last Wednesday at this time we presented a very funny wonderlic test. A listener sent a very funny wonderlic test. The people who run the Michigan Zone blog zone dot blog spot created the test.
They deserve the credit and it was very funny.
He mentioned the numerous blazing emails they got.
They mentioned that you guys are still killing him on your web site and his boss made him check it out.
He also mentioned the site is very creative and people should check out the site.
He tried to pass the buck off on the person who sent him the wonderlic test via email. And ask people sending emails to give credit where credit is due so that it may be passed on.
He did say that the buck stops with him and he didn't do a very thorough look into where credit was due.
Glad he did the right thing finally.
With that being said... he's still an ass-wipe
That was better than I expected it to be. He does deserve credit for coming clean eventually.
Herd fessed up @ 12:47PM However, it was weak... not once did he just simply apologize... he offered plenty of excuses: the staff didn't do research, the e-mail slipped through the cracks, yada yada yada. For someone who talks about character a lot, it seems to this listener that Colin isn't practicing what he is preaching. Too bad he's too arrogant to simply say that he messed up.
100% professionalism.
Way to go CC
I just really think that you guys are making a bigger deal out of this then it actually is. Its a fake Wonderlic test, anyone can do it. I mean he didn't go on air saying that he made this up and it was all his ideas, he said that it was sent from a listener and it was funny. So the real problem is the person that is sending your things out as if it they made it, your problem isn't colin
I am surprised to say this, but I thought he sounded sincere and genuinely apologetic to MZone. Several times, he mentioned the web address and how funny your writing is. He even double checked with his producer to make sure it was blogSPOT and not blogSPORT. He also said that no matter if they get a source or not, it falls on him to make sure credit goes where its due.
Kudos to you, MZone.
Cowherd went way out of his way in today's show (Monday) to give you guys full credit for a great piece and admitted he had overreacted. He stated that he put his apology on the air at the the same time in his program that he used your piece last week, so the same listeners would be more likely to hear it.
I have XL Satellite radio and hear him on ESPN, although he's on local radio in Atlanta as well. Colin is a college football fanatic and makes no bones about his love of the Pac 10. He like ND but puts down the Big 10. Cowherd knocks Michigan football for losing to our rivals and in bowl games. He says we're resting on our laurels from a national champoinship won almost 10 years ago.
As a regular listener (and UM fanatic), his apology, and complimentary references to your website, are as good as it gets from him.
Anyone who thinks he did that for any reason other than the smackdown he got from his superiors at ESPN is delusional.
I heard him today, he apologized profusely.
Good thing for the site...
I still like the 'To Kill a Mockingbird' comment.. pretty funny. Pretty much made a joke about the whole situation.
Cowherd for President.
dang. what a bunch of whiners. you guys write on a page that ends in "blogspot.com" for crying out loud. everyone knows that means you aren't good enough to get a real writing gig. if anything, you should be thanking colin. your site will probably get a 1000% increase in traffic just because he mentioned your name on air. [insert nasal whine here] "dang you, colin! i am on blogspot.com! you owe me an apology! i sit alone in my bed with my laptop all day coming up with material for my blog!"
you guys are pathetic.
Good on ya', guys. Simple email + fan support + reasonable cause = resolution. And you didn't even have to pony up the coin for a billboard!
Anon - 10:10am
First of all, we don't have lap tops because Mom hasn't bought one for us, yet. But I'm hoping she gets me one when I turn 30 next month.
Second, we sit in the basement, not our bed.
Third, it doesn't take Yost all day to write because he writes at night.
So there.
"dang. what a bunch of whiners. you guys write on a page that ends in "blogspot.com"...
...you guys are pathetic."
Shouldn't you be working on stealing the material for tomorrow's show, Colin?
j.c. allision get over yourself.
Everyone KNOWS we're not good enough to be REAL writers!
WELL DUH!
Anon 10:23 and 11:02,
Yes, we write on a free blog account. You on the other read it and feel the need to comment, then come back and comment again when somebody slams your first comment.
Yeah, you put us in our places.
Shit, gotta go. Mom's calling.
Great job by Colin there. That was cool.
It was something that will only build the credibility of the blogosphere a little bit.
And I've been where Colin is right now in the past (on-air mea culpas are not fun). He sounded contrite, based on my own experience in that situation.
Bruce,
Yes, it was very cool of him. Will be posting as much tomorrow.
Thanks for checking us out. Really appreciate it.
