Question for Nebraska Fans

I set out to write some real smart-ass trash talking post today. Something to rile up the opposition. But damn, just didn't have it in me. It's the f'ing Alamo Bowl for cryin' out loud. Man, I hope we don't go 7-4 again next season (or worse). This blows.

Thus, I have a quick question for any Nebraska fans who stumble up on our site:

Before we (hopefully) get to the football smack talk, I wanted to ask you folks about that whole "Tommy Lee Goes to College" TV show they shot on your campus. Did your school's administration stop for one second and think how bad that made the University of Nebraska look? What was the thinking there: "Hey, I have a great idea! Let's have the drummer for Motley Crue, a band known for its drug use and sexual exploits, to enroll as a student even though he was a high school drop-out. Then we'll tape the shenanigans for a reality TV show! Sure he went to jail for kicking his ex-wife, but trust me, it'll be a great way to promote the university. I mean, look what he did for Internet sex tapes."

Pure genius. Maybe next year they can get Robert Downey, Jr. or Tom Sizemore.

So wondering if Nebraska fans feel the same way about the Tommy Lee thing. Just doesn't make sense to me. Then again, neither does the AD firing your football coach after going 10-3 (two years removed from the national title game) to hire some guy who ran the Oakland Raiders into the ground and didn't get along with his players.

What happened to you guys is the cautionary tale I tell Michigan fans who bitch and complain about Lloyd Carr all the time. Have to be careful what you wish for.

PS Is it true Cornhusker fans applaud for their opponents after home games? Even after losses to bitter rivals such as CU?

Our team was run into the ground by Frank. He was garnering amazing top 50 recruiting classes. Look at those three losses. We were destroyed. Carr always gets bigtime recruits so why worry about him. The Tommy Lee show was alright. I thought it was funny. Im a college kid though so maybe I dont worry as much about how he was a bad guy. It was all in humor. Nothing serious.

Thanks for the post, Ryan.

Reminder - we have Lloyd Carr and he coached us to the same record as Callahan.

Also, it is embarrassing that #20 Michigan, who beat #25 Iowa, got picked behind them for the Outback bowl!

I guess one program is on the way up and the other isn't?

Well, well, well. Glad you can join us, Wangs. Guess work isn't so important when you think there is an opportunity to rail against Lloyd.

Check yesterday's post re: the snub.

I forgot to let the nation know this...I think about 85% of Husker fans are COMPLETELY on board with Callahan. We love what he's doing with our program and imo, the guy is a stud.

Yost, you're insane. That show was AWESOME. Tommy Lee is some sort of God and Nebraska is better off for having him.

Honestly, outside of Osborne being a total whiny piece of shit in his last season, and Scott Frost being a total whiny piece of shit always, and Eric Crouch being the least deserving Heisman winner of all time, I don't have much of a problem with Nebraska.

I had some bitterness for a while, but then I watched them play Miami in the Rose Bowl, and it felt like hating Special Olympians. So I let it go. I know, I'm totally zen.

I hear now that Tommy Lee has attended, they're changing their name from the Cornhuskers to the Hep C's.

Anon, lol

100% true about the NU fans clapping for the opposing team as they go into the locker room. Yeah, even to sCUm.

Wow, that's impressive, Anon. Tosu fans throw bottles.

This is the first time I visted the M zone site....and I was not surprised, your like all the rest. That's not bad... just the real world. All the wannabe athletes giving their take on why Michigan should of been at some other bowl or why they are better than the Huskers.Bottom line come 12-28 two teams will play the game and probably the best team will win.I also know the Huskers will do it with class.Go HUSKERS

Anon, nobody on this site - a pro Michigan site, hence the name - ever questioned the class of Nebraska fans. From what I hear, they are some of the best in all of college football.

And yes, M fans are ticked about being in the Alamo Bowl b/c we were a pre-season top 5 teams that didn't sniff expectations.

Finally, even if I wasn't a Michigan fan, I'd be picking Michigan to win the game. That's not a slap against the Huskers, it's just based on the two teams playing. And I'm not the only one as somebody made them a 13 point fave.

the tommy lee hing was kind of bad idea. the thinking was to do something like what oregon did with Animal House. it did not work out well, but oh well, it is in the past.

the coaching change will end up being good overall. it sucks right now, but a few bad years instead of a lot of "eh" ones is a good trade off.
