Michigan vs Iowa

Can Michigan, eight games into the season, do something it hasn't done yet: win two games in a row? (man, it feels strange just having to write that sentence as a Wolverine fan).

With the league as crazy (or balanced) as it is (5 teams have one conference loss, 4 others - including Michigan - have 2), a shared Big 10 title is still a very realistic goal.

Have to be honest though, I'm just not feeling it this weekend. I don't know what it is about this team but they don't know how to handle what little success they've had. And Iowa is a tough place to play, having won 22 in a row at home. Thus, I think it will be another close game, but in the end, my gut says the Hawkeyes (whose emblem on their helmets, when turned sideways, looks a heck of a lot like Fred Flinstone) will win.

I thought we'd beat Notre Dame, Wisconsin, State, Minn, and Penn State. Some of those went well, others didn't. I think we'll beat Iowa. We're a better team than they are. We're not PLAYING better than they are, and they don't lose at home, but I don't care. We HAVE to beat Iowa, because if we don't, we're going to have to beat OSU at home or Northwestern on the road to get bowl eligible, and I don't think we can do either. I think this one is key.

I don't know what you're talking about. Fred Flintstone? I don't see it. Do you have to turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise? Just his face or his whole body?
If you turn it 90 degrees counter-clockwise it looks like a hooded, hunchbacked woman carrying a sack of flour. I guess that's appropriate for Iowa.

Read a good article in cfbnews.com breaking down the M/Iowa game. I think we're in trouble. And I agree w/ you, Loef, we lose this, we will have a tough time being bowl eligible (god, I hate that term. It's for hack teams. Can't believe we even have to bring it up in discussion).

As for Fred Flinstone, turn it to the right, the thing from the bottom being the nose, the left side is the hair. Hold on, let me see if I can find a picture and post it.

I read the article on cfbnews.com and they make some good points. But let's not get carried away with Iowa gaining momentum. They've played only one quality opponent and were blown out. Their three wins in the Big Ten are over Indiana and Illinois at home and at Purdue. They got smoked by a bad Iowa State team. They still have a lot to prove.
Unfortunately, so do we. We definitely play to the level of our competition. I guess that's why all four of our Big Ten games were decided in the last minute, three of them on the last play. If Henne can make a couple of good throws, I think we'll win.

I'm not that impressed with Iowa. As long as Michigan avoids huge errors, I think Iowa will beat themselves.

I hope you're right, Anon. Only problem has been: I'm not that impressed w/ Michigan either.
